“Si pllum” is a solo exhibition by Nora Bzheta, with a curatorial text by Stefano Romano. The exhibition features four installations that are exhibited at the Bazament Art Space that will be open from June 5th to July 4th, 2025, in Tirana.
The exhibition starts in an unusual way, with an alternative entrance through the window, where access to the gallery is then made via a ladder. This approach to the entry way creates the same effect as the concept that best describes these works: transformation and transition. Inspired by the natural migration of birds, such as wild pigeons, the space of Bazament features a video and four installations that incorporate elements of pigeons, such as feathers or the physical form of the bird.
“Elixir” is an installation composed of water, clay, and feathers inside a plexiglass structure shaped like a cuboid. “Tattoo” consists of several needles placed on tracing paper, forming the shape of a pigeon in flight. “Flight” is a 23-minute and 23-second video projection on plexiglass, playing on a loop. It shows the landing of an airplane from the perspective of a passenger (the artist). The projection itself is also presented to resemble an airplane window.
Finally, “Like a Feather” is an installation made of rehydrated clay and feathers.
The use of these materials is a conceptual choice that reinforces the idea that identity is not rigid, but in constant motion. This exhibition touches on the fragile journey between departure and arrival, between the known and the unknown.
“Si pllum” explores movement as an essential process, an uninterrupted journey. The exhibition invites the audience to reflect on boundaries, both physical and social, as well as emotional, that emerge from the natural flow of life for all living beings.
