“On the Way Somewhere” is the title of the recently opened exhibition at Bazament Art Space by Italo-Albanian artist Kairo Urovi. The exhibition will be open to the public from April 24 to May 30, 2025.

This new body of work was created specifically for this exhibition at Bazament. The works focus on a house on “Ludovic Saraçi” street in Shkodër. In the exhibition, the house is viewed as a body (a physical place) that is transformed by the memories and experiences a person has within it.
The exhibition includes contemporary art mediums such as video, installation, and photography. Through these, it explores the layers of memory and emotion tied to this specific house that lies at the heart of the artist’s inspiration. Although the house physically exists, through the artworks it is transformed, colored by nostalgia and personal histories, blurring the lines between reality and memory.
Some of the photographs are displayed within glass panels and integrated into stone structures, giving them an almost architectural presence. Others are presented as simple photo prints or posters. This combination of presentation formats suggests a dialogue between documentation and personal sensitivity. The larger works physically ‘impose’ themselves within the space, while the smaller ones invite closer, more detailed observation.
